We are proud and honored to have worked on three award-winning projects with three different architectural firms, each recognized at the 2025 AIA Maryland Awards Ceremony.
This recognition reflects the outstanding design, collaboration, and impact demonstrated in each submission. Among an exceptional group of entries, these projects stood out and were formally celebrated during the annual awards event.
DC Bilingual Public Charter School Addition
Award: Institutional Architecture – Design Excellence Award
Serving over 500 Pre-K to 5th grade students, DC Bilingual Public Charter School (DCB) offers a dynamic Spanish English dual-language immersion program rooted in multicultural values and family support.
The 50,000-sf renovation upgraded mechanical, lighting, and fire suppression systems, and reimagined learning spaces to align with DCB’s mission. A new two-story, 27,000-sf addition, surrounded by outdoor play areas, features classrooms for 3rd and 5th grades, a multipurpose room, second-floor lab, and restrooms on both levels.
The project included bilingual community engagement and successfully navigated reviews by the Commission of Fine Arts and the Historic Preservation Office. Opened for the 2022–2023 school year, the expanded campus strengthens DCB’s educational mission and its role as a community resource.
