IIDA Mid-Atlantic Chapter Premiere Design Awards Winner

Jun 03, 2022

Interface is proud to announce that the AGU Headquarters building was recognized in the Corporate category at the 2022 IIDA Mid-Atlantic Chapter Premiere Design Awards competition. Hickok Cole, the Architect for the project, remarks: “The American Geophysical Union project team engaged local Dupont Circle advisory and community groups early on to ensure the exterior renovations required to meet net-zero energy standards wouldn’t disturb the historic neighborhood’s character. Designers extended this mindset to the interiors, committed to challenging the negative perception of what sustainable design looked like—and it’s safe to say their hard work paid off. The new AGU HQ took home the IIDA Mid Atlantic Chapter Premiere Award for Best Office: 50-100k SF, an honor that recognizes the building’s innovation and impact as much as it does the overall design.”

The 2022 Premiere Design Awards competition and celebration marks the 27th Anniversary of the IIDA Mid-Atlantic Chapter Premiere, a program developed to recognize local design achievement and encourage new ideas in the design of interior spaces.
