Interface Engineers Earn CSE’s 40 Under 40 Award

Two Interface Engineering staff have been honored with Consulting-Specifying Engineer’s 2016 40 Under 40 award. This award is given to building industry professionals age 40 and younger who stand out in personal and professional aspects of their lives. Thomas Phuong, PE, LEED AP and Michael Nelson, MBA, GGP, LEED AP were nominated by professional colleagues and judged based on nine areas including their commitment to excellence in their academic, professional, personal, and community involvement. In the May edition and online, Consulting Specifying Engineer honored each of these young professionals, highlighting traits that lead him/her to continued success, recent professional projects, and personal achievements. Thomas is a Senior Electrical Engineer and Associate Principal who joined Interface Engineering 20 years ago upon graduating from University of Portland. A well-established and respected leader, Thomas co-leads a team of 17 engineers, designers, REVIT modelers/drafters, and administrative on a wide array of challenging MEP projects. Michael worked at smaller consulting firms before joining Interface Engineering in 2008. At Interface, he’s been able to pursue this passion for renewable energy designs. He’s an Associate and Senior Electrical Designer. Throughout Michael’s career he has always placed a firm commitment on energy efficiency and environmentally responsible designs.
