The Donald P. Shiley Hall at University of Portland was awarded an Honorable Mention for Outstanding Design from College Planning & Management’s Architecture in Education. As the MEP engineer, Interface incorporated several energy-saving strategies like mixed-mode natural and displacement ventilation, underfloor air distribution in the computer classrooms, and a thermally optimized envelope to help push the building to LEED Platinum certification.
