New York, New York
Client: Avenues: The World School New York, Architect: Efficiency Lab for Architecture
The Avenues School Summer Project focused on the renovation of the 6th floor of the 11-story private school building in Chelsea, overlooking the High Line. Work included upgrading all common space lighting, creating new student nook spaces, adding a new water fountain in the 10th floor gym, updating the 606B office, and providing a new security desk and lobby space. Interface Engineering provided mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and fire alarm design services. As the building is located in the West Chelsea Historic District, the project required and received approvals from the NYC DOB, FDNY, the Landmarks Preservation Commission, the Office of Environmental Remediation, and the High Line’s agency.
