The Net-Zero Kitchen/Dining Hall has a Kitchen Exhaust Heat Recovery system to recover heat for warming up the make-up air and/or for pre-heating domestic hot water. In addition, microturbine technology is incorporated to offset electrical loads and to reduce the number of solar panels and the dependency on the grid when solar energy is unavailable.
