Block 300 Office Tower Renovation
Formerly the Robert Duncan Plaza, the 2014 renovation encompassed 160,000 sf on four floors.
Block 300 was remodeled to provide space for the Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management employees with similar functions to occupy the same building, and to share ideas and resources in a convenient space. The new configuration allows the 950 employees to work on teams while maintaining privacy for independent work.
Most challenging was the need to supply fresh air. When the structure was built 14 years ago, building requirements provided less ventilation than today, requiring holes cut in new areas to provide fresh outside air. Interface engineers were able to find innovative solutions to satisfy both the tenants’ needs and GSA requirements.
